A Quick Visit To Tucker Georgia
My husband’s sister recently moved to Tucker, Georgia, which is located several hours from our house. We decided to get the cousins together for the weekend, and we made a quick trip to the area to visit with our family. While there, we got to take in a few local sights and attractions. We truly enjoyed our time in Tucker; we felt it was a very family friendly, charming area. If you find yourself traveling near this city, here are a few things you should make sure you see while there.
1. Henderson Park
My kids love to play on playgrounds. My husband loves to walk on nature trails. Henderson Park let us do a little bit of everything. When we first got there, the little ones made a beeline for the play structures. We let them chase each other for a bit before we headed over to the nature trails. There was a community garden there as well, so we took a little “break” from playing and walking and enjoyed the peaceful scenery.
2.Tucker Nature Preserve
The weather was beautiful while we were visiting Tucker, so we decided to pack up a picnic lunch and head somewhere that we could all relax. Through the wonders of GPS, we wound up stumbling upon the Tucker Nature Preserve. It consists of nine acres, featuring a picnic area, a walking loop and a grassy area. The grassy area was perfect for the kids to kick around the soccer ball and chase each other while the adults chatted with one another.
3. Taqueria Los Hermanos
On our last night in town, my in-laws treated us all to an evening out at dinner. We love Mexican food, so this was a special treat. We found the food to be delicious and the service to be fast (something that is necessary when you have several young children with you). My kids were very happy that our server managed to keep our bowl of chips filled up, despite all the little hands that kept grabbing for more.
We had a great time visiting our family in Tucker. The kids are already asking about a return trip. Also, Tucker is very close to Atlanta. We are planning to stay for longer next time and make the short thirty minute trip into the city to see even more sights. My husband would love to go to a Braves game!
